Ginger in syrup has light golden colour, a typical ginger aroma and a pleasant sweet ginger flavour. It is used in jams, sauces, marinades, baking of cakes and biscuits, but it is also widely used in bottling which used to be the most common form of preservation for a long time. Ginger syrup contains the aroma and pleasant sweet ginger flavour. As it was used to stabilize the finished product in the first instance, this is of great benefit in many applications as it will allow the ginger flavour to be present throughout the finished product.
