Magnet System
This is the most critical part of any wet drum design, ours reflect many years of experience and development.
Our products adopt squeezed multiple-pole magnetic circuit, which can make magnetic field distrabuted so stable and reasonable that it can not only save energy, but also separate and purify the feed more efficiently.
The magnetic separation zone is comprised of stationary permanent magnet, with ferrite/cerimac magnet or rare earth magnets(NDFeB).
Drum Construction
The main cover is in stainless steel, as is the replaceable wearing cover----the drum can be covered with wearable rubber.Stainless steel end flanges have inner and outer seals ensuring the cover and flange joints are watertight.Sealed for life proprietory, flange bearings have grease nipples fitted and are protected from the slurry running down the flange .The magnet yoke and drum position can be easily adjusted to optimized mass recovery and process performance. The magnet yoke position can be adjusted I + 20 degree by a lever mounted at the end of the drum shaft. The bottle neck (gap between tank and drum surface) can be adjusted vertically by shims and horizontally by slotted holes, bringing the magnet poles as close as possible to the media and ensuring maximum magnetic field strength.
Tanks Design
The design of the magnetic separator tank is very important. It must take into account: a) presentation of the feed to the drum b) removal of the non-magnetic fraction c) nature of the washing action to be adopted.
While many variations exist in tank design, there are three basic groups, based on the pulp flow, as follows: I) concurrent II) counter-rotation III) counter-current.
I) The tank of CTS is used almost exclusively for coarse separation and concentration of higher grade iron ore in the size range 6mm and below. It can increase the grade, but reduce the recovery with procucing more tailings, because valuable iron sand is maybe rejected
II)The Tank of CTN is mainly used for recoveries ferrous magnetic minerals and the grade of the concentrate is only of secondary importance. Feed solids for the counter-rotation tank should be smaller than 3mm or below. So the counter-rotation tank design is used for coarse separation of low grade iron ore, reseparation of tailings, recovery of heavy medium in a coal concentrating plant etc.
III)The tank of CTB is most suited for concentration of size 1mm and less.The grade of concentrates can be increased very high, whilst the waste of tailings is small. So this design is most suitable for benefication of concentrates.
Others
The size of feed treated in these separators rarely exceeds 5mm because of the problem of removing tailings from the spigots without casing blockage, sizes coarser than 5mm are usually treated in dry magnetic processes or with belt-type machines. The capacity of drum separator is determind by the magnetic induction on the surface of the drum, by the gradient of the magnetic field in the pulp and by the size of the drum.
The improvement in parameters of the magnetic circuit and in the design of the separation tanks produced an increase in: i) the diameter and length of the drum and therefore, the capacity of the machine. ii) the gradient of the magnetic field and thus an increase in the efficiency of the recovery of fine ferromagnetic particles. iii) the depth of the magnetic field and easier recovery of larger grains
Applications
●used for the first stage rough concentration in the ore dressing plants. Increase recovery and reduce the load of the second-stage grinding by rejecting waste minerials.
●used for concentrating next stage, increase concentrate grade and recovery rate;
●used for separation of iron sand under wet conditions, reject excess silica , mud and other low-magnetic minerials, increase the grade efficiently.
●used before strong magnetic operation, remove iron magnetic minerals and prevent magnetic block;
●used for recovery of rion ore in coal dressing plant.
