Chlorogenic acid is a natural plant compound in green coffee that acts as a slimming and health promoting substance. Chlorogenic acid reduces sugar absorption from the gut. It also speeds up the rate at which fat is burned in the body. Chlorogenic acid was shown to have an antagonistic effect on glucose transport. Chlorogenic acid has also been found to sighnificantly delay glucose uptake from the small intestine.
